I've been getting a lot of requests for comments on the DOE report on the state of climate science. Here are some initial thoughts.
Dr. Chris Callahan used the results from a previously published analysis of heat-related mortality in France to estimate how many people this heat wave killed. The answer: 2,700.
Here is a plot of the hottest day in June in an ensemble of bias-adjusted models vs. observations. You can see how models are underpredicting extreme temperatures.
