Well, this is the Mackinac Bridge this morning. Just got a text from my SIL and she said there is ash falling from the sky up there. Guess I am glad to be in Higgins Lake today rather than in the UP. We do have an air quality alert, but it doesn't look like this outside.

This is Chester Cutiehead. His momma had babies near our house in Traverse City. Of all the kittens, he was the only one that would come up to us. Books I have read the past week: Zenobia by Morten Durr and Bitter Orange Tree by Jokha Alharthi. Zenobia is a children's graphic novel and I have a hard copy which will be put in my mutual aid box. I am putting a note in it to tell a parent/caregiver to explain the Syrian Civil War, Queen Zenobia, and refugees to the child(ren). Without background knowledge, I do think kids would be sort of lost
