I've just tested the principle of #SSB processing using Controlled-Envelope Single-Sideband modulation (CESSB) in #GNURadio and it is beyond beautiful.
It uses a two stage process of clipping and peak stretching that combined can reduce the effects of over modulation typically introduced by #agc

Wrote the first article of this quarter, this time on using the #LimeSDR to transmit #HF signals.
It explains the important considerations such as aliasing, under runs and resampling.

The silly GNURadio HF transceiver flowchart is done. It uses no custom blocks or embedded Python.
It is quite fragile but it really works. You can try it out yourself here:

Attached is an image of the GUI and the flowchart.

Another super silly idea. This time #SSB speech processing.
What if we break down speech into several tones and harmonics using a polyphase channelizer (#PFB), subsequently select the maximum tone of each channel.
Then reconstruct the speech by only restransmitting the fundament of each channel?

I'm shamelessly bad at mathematics, like notoriously bad.
It took me two days to write this simple loop to numpy...
The loop swaps elements based on a bit reversal pattern (not inverse, reverse, think flip left to right along center bits, …
The performance of native Python #gnuradio blocks can be significantly improved by adjusting `set_output_multiple` to a sufficiently high number.
Naturally, there is a relation between group delay and this multiple.

#Steam discussions are so useless because they are just squatted by trolls running many accounts as single person.
This one really makes no attempt at hiding it whatsoever.

I have this incredibly silly idea to build my own transceiver around a TX/RX #SDR and the entire software stack runs in a @gnuradio flowchart.
Just for the fun of it, you know.
Here is my mock up #SSB transmit part.
Another manual scanned and archived, we bought a whole pile a few weeks ago so there is more to go!

We should focus on increasing our sampling rate a bit.
This process is generally not expensive, but at these sampling rates, it won't run on a raspberry pi.
The image has them in order of increasing computationally complexity with the lowe…
The #limesdr has a minimal LO frequency of 30 MHz so you might be wondering how it receives HF at all.
Well it has 60msps max sampling rate per transceiver so it can demodulate the entire HF band with the LO at 30 MHz directly!
It also has…
