OK who knows how much shit could have been avoided with the right knowledge... but here's how ive got it set up:
partition for / is LUKS v1 formatted and btrfs inside (LUKS2 NOT SUPPORTED BY GRUB). swapfile on the volume at /swap

I think my conclusion is this... dont rely on lvm for booting... I'm going to repartition and put / on a honest to goodness partition, then I can activate the lvm later after a full boot using a service
How do I get guix to boot without worrying about lvm cache volumes until after it's fully booted? Once it's fully booted I could have a service that runs "lvchange -a y vg0" and enables the other lvm volumes with caches.
