No ai used for rendering these, 10+ years ago. Blender (and other 3d software) was already impressively good back then. Now, we can do *unbelievable* stuff in Blender, Houdini, Plasticity, Zbrush etc. No point in outsourcing the actual craft where it doesn't make sense.
