I offer you four views of Mt. Adams from around Takhlakh lake -- the campground is a great spot despite (because of?) being far from pavement. There are prominent 3,400yo lava flows, meadows, and a nice lake with the mountain rising up from one end of it.

And here's Walupt Falls from a previous summer. The trail to get here is a bit rough, and not too well maintained. I remember doing a some route-finding, and at one point there was a rope to aid with a bit of a scramble up/down a hill. But you end up in a deep canyon where the creek goes over the falls and into the Crispus river. It's striking.

There's a little clearing off the beaten path in the wooded park nearby, where we often throw sticks for the dog. She's become obsessed with the spot, and always wants to go towards it. Yesterday's weather was quite nice, so I thought we'd end our walk with a little reading-in-hammock time there.
This was foolish of me, because in stick-land, the dog cannot relax. She can only think about fetch.

Walupt Lake is also a great camp spot (see Walupt Creek Falls...amazing). That ended up being ~100 miles of forest road though -- a bit much maybe.
This week we spent 3 nights. Got a bit of rain, but m

Listening to a talk about #embedded (C) toolchains at #teardown2026 this morning is reminding why I prefer Rust for programmig MCUs 🤣

I do not recommend leaving painters tape on your garage floor for a few years and then trying to get it off. But if anyone has ideas on how to get it off, I'd welcome them...

I rode the #bike on the ferry to Kingston today, and then toured around the Port Gamble Forest Park. Got lots of gravel, and some fun swooshy MTB trails. Made it back to the ferry just in time to watch the gate close though. Then again...I…
