Getting out of the “having to directly set fire to stuff that was dug out of the ground to travel any substantial distance” game definitely feels like a positive step though.
Am I right in thinking that something like a Fibonacci Heap, which apparently has better “amortized” performance than a binary heap is only really better if you never full empty the heap? Or am I misunderstanding things?
