Got time to populate the rest of the I/O board for my homebrew computer today, and test PIA2, VIA2 and ACIA2.
They all fit into the same I/O slots as PIA1, VIA1 and ACIA1 respectively, but have additional sub-decoding.
Everything works. 🤓
NMI test checks out as well. ✅

Luckily, since 2 resistors had to go, it was no trouble fitting the 2 additional capacitors on the board, for revision 2.

ACIA1: oh hai!1 🥲
Well, the datasheet says (2*load capacitance)-2.
The crystal load is specified at 13pF, so the capacitance should be (2*13)-2=24pF (somehow the datasheet gets 2*13-2 to yield 18 🤷♂️).
Picking 18pF caps are off by 6pF, but so are 30pF caps…
Not done tweaking that ACIA oscillator section it seems. It won't start reliably. 😐
It is more likely to start when I'm probing it, or if I'm touching the board, adding stray capacitance, so the cap values must be marginal.

Went over the schematics and PCB again and found nothing else wrong, so let's see if it helps adding an additional load capacitor for the crystal...
