spiritface2face originated as an expressive college project through my internship at the Jackson Social Justice Legacy Scholarship. Prior to spiritface2face emerging, I embarked on my healing journey at the start of the pandemic to save my life and sanity. I have always been a deeply passionate person as it pertains to the rights of all people and a belief in true justice for the oppressed people around the world. As a deeply empathic individual, it took a lot of patience, forgiveness, endurance, release, support, and inner resourcefulness to be able to revive my spiritual agency the way I have.It is a continuous practice that I consciously engage with. I have experienced rebirth into new versions of myself with deeper compassion for myself and the world around me. Through my spiritual practice, I have felt immense guilt, shame, sorrow, and depletion for the ways in which I can afford to do this work and for the ways many suffer at the hands of imperialism and othering. With deep gratitude, I am able to transmute these darker emotions, and connect to the eternal light that surrounds us. I am reminded that we did not come into this life to suffer alone, or suffer at the hands of greed and extortion. With awareness and dedication to justice for oppressed people, I struggle within resistance and like many, find myself feeling a mix of emotions in the plight for freedom.As I grow within my resistance through reflection, unlearning, and conscious listening I remain steadfast in the belief that we have deep agency in being able to spread joy, love, restoration, and renewal to those who struggle to survive. From my personal observation, I feel as if the revolution will not sustain until we liberate ourselves emotionally. The liberation of our emotions is not finite and is ever evolving through the plight for revolution.
