J aWay is the electronic music project of Los Angeles-based DJ/Producer Josh Crews. After discovering turntablism in 1998, Josh immersed himself in Atlanta's underground music scene; DJing and producing breakbeats, drum & bass, hip-hop, house, and experimental electronic music. Along the way, he produced and recorded an extensive catalog of hip-hop and beats, blending turntablism, live instrumentation, and original vocals into a style all his own. Today, J aWay continues to create genre-blending electronic music in Ableton and behind Pioneer decks. His sound is rooted in bass grooves, broken rhythms, and a playful sense of exploration; drawing inspiration from anything that's fun, beautiful, or unexpected.
