We’ve been told that if we just check all the boxes—the career, the marriage, the perfect parenting—that the 'heaviness' will eventually lift. But for a long time, I was checking every box while drowning in a sea of responsibility, perimenopause, and the kind of grief that comes from losing my husband to suicide.
