In the near future, America is grappling with a dual internal conflict: recovering from a devastating Civil War and confronting the severe impacts of climate change. The main character, Oliver Howard, a war veteran, along with his young partner Ruth Freeman, is part of a new bureaucracy tasked with rescuing endangered citizens from what they have been told are hostile communities affected by climate change and historical racial tensions. However, while conducting their official duties, unbeknownst to them, a greater spiritual purpose underlies their assignments, with invisible forces both guiding and obstructing their efforts. Will they succeed in their roles while failing in their spiritual mission, or will it be the opposite?
