Toward the Lord

Toward the Lord” is a faith centered podcast grounded in humility, testimony, and the enduring truth that God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary works. The podcast is hosted by Peter Goldsberry, known as the Chief Baggage Handler, a man who has spent many years sharing the Word of God with sincerity and devotion. Peter openly acknowledges that he has sinned and has fallen short of the glory of God. Yet he continues to begin each day in prayer and commits himself to doing the work God places before him. Married for thirty three years to his high school sweetheart and a father of two, he gives full credit to the Lord for every blessing in his life. His family, career, friendships, and countless opportunities have all been shaped by the grace of God. Peter’s professional journey has taken him from the food manufacturing industry to serving as a Senior Vice President in the National Basketball Association. It was during this transition, in a new state and a new city, that God stirred his heart with a powerful message. Everything must be done for the glory of the Lord. In that moment, God began to inspire ideas and create paths that could only come from Him. Within a short time, God used Peter to create Faith and Family Nights and Book Mobiles for children in a community that deeply needed hope and support. Peter realized he had become part of what he fondly calls God’s starting five. These initiatives were made possible through the support of the American Bible Society, Moody Bible Institute, Word Records, and an NBA owner who shared the Christian faith. More than ten thousand Psalm Books were distributed to attendees, and representatives from the American Bible Society greeted families and fans throughout the concourse. Word Records, part of Warner Records, provided leading Contemporary Christian artists for halftime and post game performances. Peter’s ministry efforts led to invitations to appear on “More Than Conquerors” on the Trinity Broadcast Network
