VODKAST RECORDS

Vodkast Records is made of a record and audio shop, DJ mix series, club nights, and a record label from Tbilisi. It started in 2010 as the first DJ mix podcast by Gio Bakanidze - our friend and one of the pioneer DJs in Georgia. Before Gio's tragic passing in the same year, six podcasts have been recorded by Georgian DJs posted as ‘oldies’. Vodkast has been re-launched in 2011 by Gio’s friends through posting weekly DJ mixes of local and foreign artists. Since 2012, Vodkast club nights are being held across various clubs and festivals in Georgia, among them the lovely 4GB - annual dance gathering as a tribute to Gio, which has been growing ever since Gio's friends launched it in 2011. Later in September 2015, Vodkast Records - a vinyl record shop opened its doors in Tbilisi and restarted the underlying culture since its disappearance from the recent past. Same year saw the first release of Vodkast record label which was followed by couple more limited vinyl releases of local musicians. We are grateful to all of our friends, artists, listeners and everyone who has supported Vodkast throughout the years.
