📢 The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub has a refreshed look! From 15th July 2026, the KL Hub has adopted EBSCO’s updated interface. While the search functionality remains the same, some navigation features have moved to make the interface cleaner and easier to use. Yesterday the BCHFT Knowledge & Library Services team rolled up their sleeves at Walsall Libraries, searching through withdrawn stock to find books that can begin a second life in our patient libraries. Been a busy week with not many photo opportunities, but here are a few from today’s community event. Knowledge and Library Services were out supporting a psychosis awareness event delivered by our Early Intervention Team at the Trust. We had charities, voluntary organisations and primary care staff from across the Black Country in attendance. It was great to see Laura Barney’s enthusiasm in delivering the session, especially the examples she used to raise awareness and bring the topic to life. A

What happens after discharge matters just as much as what happens in hospital. Today, our team partnered with Sandwell Libraries & Archives and our occupational therapists to support discharge meetings at Edward Street Hospital introducing patients to their local public library as a place they can go next.(a safe space) Not just for books, but for: – computers and digital support – coffee, chat and reading groups – crafts and creative activities – advice on employment, housing and carers support
