I didn’t think “supported by gas and water pipes” was part of the architectural plans but our plaster ceiling in the basement is FALLING!! Like the whole ceiling has fallen 6”-almost 2 feet. A section is now propped up until the contractor can get there to remove the whole ceiling but I’m terrified it will collapse before he gets here. Cheap DIY hack if you have broken porch screens. Bonus because they will help keep the wind, rain, dirt, and bugs out. The great thing is we were able to fix our porch for under $150. It has held up to wind gusts of 100mph so far so I am feeling pretty good about our porch hack so far. I made a no dig pollinator garden on a whim and did it in just an afternoon. This is what it looks like 8 days later! I have put in some irrigation, some additional soil, and will be creating two more in my front yard this week. I also have plans to create a bird and butterfly village. I am super excited about this plan. For a little DIY we were able to achieve the look we wanted with basically some paint, refinishing the hardwood floors (which we did throughout the home), and adding some high/low pieces.
