What is so striking is how many conservative mps are still talking about what is “ best for the party”. It’s a real give away - that party still seemingly comes before country and constituents and democracy.
Just spoke to a Tory MP who told me “we ( Conservative party) are just a protectionist racket right now - a gang of marauding ambition - not a serious party”.
It’s riveting to watch a man so convinced of the entitlement of his position that he cannot imagine the country surviving without him. Why would anyone put themselves through something so shaming?
I’m really embarrassed to say I never saw this coming. When it was blinding obvious this would be the logical next step. Wow.
Wine on the walls, vomit, a fight. And cleaners - who weren’t able to see their families - regularly cleaning it all up. But yep, let’s all get on now …
