Toby's Glen is beautiful. Very different to the ridgetop. Concentrating on the descent, I look up, & am surrounded by absolutely massive white gums reaching for the sky. No crocs. I'm not sure I'd still consider it safe to camp under those… The rest of the ride was uneventful, except for unfinished business. A while back I visited all the dams along the fire trail, but missed Toby's Glen. Did it even have a dam? At the bottom of a steep descent (almost 100m), there's a puddle… Gloriously glorious in the Blue Mountains today, so I rode.😎 Anxious about knees, but wanting a longer ride than local shorties, I rode the Oaks. Any wonkiness by the far end, & I'd hop a train, halving the ride. If not, ride back. No won… ★ 2 Today's birb is a wonga pigeon, native to eastern Australia. Now I'm wondering if the frames just broke. Possibly stressed at some point, & coincidentally broke as I cleaned them after they … Experiment the second. Soaking in Diggers for 60min, more of the arm submerged. Ok. Got distracted. 90min. Wiped, sprayed, & examined. 🤷 Nothing. No indication of any changes. Experiment the last. I'm getting bored, nothing's happening. I… ★ 1 Specs update! Experiment the first. Stuck arm tip into Diggers for 10min. Wiped clean & examined. 🤷 Sprayed with IPA and wiped. 🤷 I can't see/feel any changes. Trying 60min. They'd broken 5 mins after getting splashed. I'm also seeing cra… ★ 3 Bloody! Broke my specs, not entirely sure how.🤷 I made some liquid chain wax with wax & Diggers wax & grease remover (petroleum distillates). Shook the bottle, & didn't hold the lid on properly, splashing my specs. No worries, only wax, it… ★ 2 Bugger. Another glorious day, Mr Garmin said I was clear to ride. I rode. Briefly. Cared for my wife from 2017-23. Alzheimer's is terminal, progressive, and devastating for all concerned. J now lives in 24/7 care. 😭 While dying, dad told us his dad & gran were Aboriginal, calling his grandparents a combo - an illegal mixed couple. Who knew? Not me. True? No idea. Yet. I toot as a white man, & benefit from the privilege that brings in Australia. I live on Darug land. I follow people, but get a little confused when people follow me.🤷‍♂️
